Stem Cells....What are they?

We have been discussing cells and why they divide in class.  Please view the following video about stem cells.  In your own words, give a brief explanation as to what your understanding of stems are.  What is the difference between tissue specific and embryonic stem cells?  What are your thoughts regarding the use of stem cells?
